Winter 2020 - Studio News

Happy New Year

The past year was one of creativity and adventure and I feel both very fortunate and inspired for 2020.  The year started out with a surprise visit from a Kuwaiti gentleman who came to my studio one spring day and ended up leaving with over 27 pieces of my bronze works, most of my inventory and collection built up in the studio sculpture gardens over the years. Obviously it was time to get to work and start building up the inventory again.  Many of the new pieces created in 2019 were direct inspirations from recent travel adventures, Grizzly Bears from Bute Inlet, Howling Wolf from Desolation Sound, Peregrine Falcons and Ravens from the Yukon, and more locally the Kingfisher, Jellyfish and Rockfish sculptures.

One of the more memorable moments of the year was creating a Pangolin sculpture for WildAid’s fundraising efforts directed towards wildlife conservation in Africa. The sculpture was auctioned of at the WildAid Gala this past November at the Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles. What a wild and wonderful party they put on to celebrate their incredible achievements in global conservation!

This year I am focused on a major entry into the Sidney Fine Art show, continued support of WildAid and the creation of some of my old favourites: octopus, fish, bears and a new narwhal sculpture. Stay tuned!
