About the Reptile Series

I think it is mainly the textural qualities that have drawn me to the Tortoise and Dragon Sculptures. The deeply etched patterns provide a wonderful surface to explore the subtleties of various patina treatments. The sculptures have a presence; they are large and are very tactile.

My studies of the Komodo Dragon and the various tortoises were done at the Honolulu Zoo.
