About the Jelly Fish

When I was first asked about the jelly fish as a sculpture subject I was very unsure as to how to approach the piece. Sculpturally they were a challenge, both to capture the delicate nature of the creature as well as to achieve the fluid sense of movement without obvious intrusion from the supporting base. After a trip down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium I came back fascinated and inspired to create a bronze sculpture that would evoke the sense of the delicate gracefulness of the jelly.

Each of the jelly fish sculptures is unique as the tentacles are formed by hand without the use of a mold each time a piece is cast. I have three versions currently available including the single and twin jelly fish sculptures as well as the wall mounted ½ model version which are usually sold as a group of 4 wall mounted sculptures.
