Inspiration
The inspiration for Paul’s highly detailed and textured sculptures has been fostered by diving experiences, his work and studies in the field of ecology and an appreciation of endangered species.
Examples
Some examples of recently completed bronze works include a ¼ scale sculpture of the grizzly bear, a barn and screech owl, a giant Pacific octopus, sea otters, sea lions, walruses and muskoxen. He has also completed a collection of more exotic species including the Arapaima fish from the Amazon, the Arowana, or Golden Dragon fish, Komodo Dragon, tortoises and a series of swimming sea turtles.
Paul strives to capture a sense of motion in each of his sculptures.
Most of the sculptural pieces are done as a limited edition of 20 or less. The original molds are destroyed after the artist proof and edition run have been filled.
